Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group (ALLG) National Blood Cancer Registry (NBCR)
The ALLG Biobank collects and stores fully annotated biospecimens from patients with blood cancers for both clinical trials purposes and for ethically approved unspecified future research under the ALLG National Blood Cancer Registry (NBCR). Samples collected include blood and tissue samples, and processed into several aliquot types for storage. The specimens are stored at the Hunter Cancer biobank facility in NSW under accredited storage standards, and regular quality control and assurance processes are undertaken to ensure ongoing fitness for purpose of the samples. Over 30,000 aliquots are currently held in the ALLG Biobank which are available for use in future research projects, collected from over 2,400 blood cancer patients. Longitudinal clinical data associated with the samples is also available for use in future research projects, including diagnostic assessment data, genomic and cytogenetic data, and treatment and outcome information.
